The story of the song “: “Midst All The Myriads Of Stars In The Sky” (Swiss German: “Under Milliarde vo Sterne” / German: “Unter Milliarden von Sternen”) is truly special — a story written by life itself. The song emerged in moments we all know: in darkness, in sadness, in emotional times. And then, one day, it was simply there.
As early as 2003, musician and lyricist Walti Dux composed this Christmas song. Since then, the melody has been traveling the world — first in small steps, and now ever more widely. It is a melody that brings hope and, across languages, has taken on a very special meaning for many people.
“Unter Milliarden von Sternen” has become part of the repertoire of numerous school classes — especially during Advent. Even the Salvation Army performs it. Choirs in Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, Cuba, and Scotland’s Shetland Islands sing it, while brass bands play it across England and many other European countries.
In Kaduna, Nigeria, the Najude Pioneer School produced a moving filmed version. In southern Nigeria, a rendition in Yoruba emerged — a language spoken by some 30 million people in Nigeria and Benin. Swiss television considered this version noteworthy enough to feature on the Tagesschau, under the title: “A Swiss Christmas Song on the Verge of a Global Breakthrough.” The newspaper BLICK also highlighted the song.
As a result, more and more artists are discovering this beautiful melody and sharing it on their journeys. The song is truly traveling around the world.

Unter Milliarden von Sternen/ Volume V
In the beginning, there was a song: “Unter Milliarden von Sternen” (English: “Midst All The Myriads Of Stars In The Sky”). Often described in the press as the “Song of Hope,” this melody became the inspiration for a book series of the same name. The final volume of the “Unter Milliarden von Sternen” series was published in autumn 2024. For the last time, it proclaims: “Somewhere in the sky, a star is waiting just for you! When the gentle starlight touches you, your life changes — and everything will be fine.” Twelve beautiful stories — full of dreams, hope, and wonder — tell of both great and small miracles. Volumes I through V of “Unter Milliarden von Sternen” have found their way into numerous print publications, onto Swiss radio, into educational publishers, and — most importantly, and most beautifully for us — into the hearts of many families and schoolchildren across Switzerland. We were deeply touched by the response of internationally renowned bestselling author Erich von Däniken, who wrote:
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Dux,
I read your book “Unter Milliarden von Sternen” with great emotion. Your texts reminded me of the old saying: “Whenever you think you can’t go on, a little light appears from somewhere.” Every era is a difficult one — for someone. Your writings are uplifting and offer hope, which is important at any time. Thank you for your book, and especially in these times of the coronavirus, I wish you both continued good health.
With sincere regards to the phenomenal Marisa and Walti Dux,
Erich von Däniken

Short Stories for the Whole Family, for All Ages
Since 2019, five books containing a total of 60 stories have been published. Two things unite them all: in one way or another, each story is inspired by our own life experiences, and they are always about hope. Hope forms the foundation for a personal willingness to engage with life and pursue one’s own happiness. It gives confidence in the future and positively affects the body, the mind, and ultimately the course of events and our destiny. In fact, our books came into being because people kept referring to our song “Unter Milliarden von Sternen” as the “Song of Hope.”
On our channel, we now read a selection of these stories for you, set in beautiful locations. Over time, there will be more, and we would be delighted if you follow our channel.
And now — enjoy!

(Includes lyrics and melody sheets: “Under Milliarde vo Sterne” CH, “Unter Milliarden von Sternen” DE)
The Authors
Marisa and Walti Dux, from Bauma in the Canton of Zurich, have known each other since the age of 12. They fell in love at school and have since raised three children. Today, they are proud grandparents of four.
In 2003, a dark cloud hung over their lives. Shortly before Christmas, Marisa was diagnosed with a serious illness that shook the family to its core. On the evening before her operation, Walti Dux wrote the song “Unter Milliarden von Sternen” at home.
Today, Marisa is fully recovered and works as a teacher, author, and presenter. Walti works as an author, speaker, musician, and teacher — and his guitar is always with him! Together, Marisa and Walti are responsible for the concept and texts of the book.
The Illustrator
Charlie Weibel is a successful drummer from Lucerne who has already published many drumming books. On the beach of Koh Samui in Thailand he met Marisa and Walti about 20 years ago – while making music together at a campfire. A deep friendship has connected them ever since. Even back then, Charlie decorated his own books with comic drawings. What could be more natural now than to give him the task of creating the illustrations for “Unter Milliarden von Sternen”.
Educational Resource for the Picture Storybook
“Unter Milliarden von Sternen” has already made its way into Swiss schools. In collaboration with the teaching materials publisher of the Canton of Zurich (ZKM), Marisa and Walti Dux created a reading companion booklet to accompany their book. The publisher’s long-standing editor commented on this work:
“This is the very first document I have come across that engages with Curriculum 21 in a highly creative, valuable, versatile, and truly appealing way. Wonderful!”
Published in May 2020, the educational resource is a modern reading companion designed to foster cross-curricular competencies in accordance with Curriculum 21. It encourages independent exploration of exciting topics—research, investigations, interviews, role-plays—using YouTube, Google, and other resources.
